Over the years, the Mollington Hotel & Spa Chester  has established an enviable reputation as one of Cheshire’s finest hotels for wedding celebrations. From the time you first step on the red carpet, to the start of your Honeymoon, you can be assured no effort will be spared in making your day a memorable one. 

You are invited to visit the hotel to discuss your requirements and view without obligation.

We pride ourselves on the quality of service we are able to offer you. From the hotel staff’s help in planning the day, to the friendly and efficient service on the day itself, every effort is made to ensure all goes well, and not forgetting the setting - our beautiful gardens which are at your disposal to capture those treasured photographs.

Organising a wedding reception can be a daunting task. A ‘friend in the business’ is essential at times, and we will be only too pleased to assist you with any aspect of the day’s plans, from cars to cakes and photographers to posies.

 

The Banqueting Facilities

There are two suites available to you at the Mollington Hotel & Spa Chester, both tastefully furnished, have natural daylight, air conditioning and access to our beautiful gardens.

The Ascot Suite is our largest banqueting room, which can seat up to 200 people and overlooks the hotel’s magnificent gardens. The size of the room allows most weddings a considerable variety of room layouts. It has a well equipped bar and a large dance-floor.

The Twickenham Suite, again overlooking the gardens, is perfect for weddings up to 50 people in the day and allowing an evening function and dancing up to 50 people.

The Epsom & Kelso Suite is perfect for a civil ceremony of up to 100 guests.

The Wentworth Suite is perfect for a civil ceremony of up to 60 guests.

The Mollington Hotel & Spa Chester also has an extensive leisure facility, with a hair and beauty salon ideal for a relaxing make over on the morning of your wedding.

Booking Conditions

 

A provisional booking can be held for 14 days. A non-refundable deposit of £600.00 for the Ascot Suite, and £300.00 for the Twickenham Suite is required to confirm the booking.

50% of the estimated total is payable three months before the date of your wedding.

The remainder of the outstanding balance & final catering numbers are required 14 days prior to your wedding.

The listed rates/prices include VAT at 17.5 %.  These prices will be held until 31st December 2006.

Please note minimum numbers in our Ascot Suite for a Saturday Wedding (June – Sept) is 60 day and 120 night adults. We unfortunately do not take day time only weddings during this period for a Saturday. If your numbers drop below 60, you will be charged for 60 adults.

Please note minimum numbers in our Ascot Suite for a Friday Wedding (June – Sept) is 50 day and 100 night adults. If your numbers drop below 50, you will be charged for 50 adults.

Numbers may vary by 20% from original contract without penalty.  Reduction of numbers greater than 20% will incur a charge

 N.B The hotel does not allow Weddings to provide their own wine.


Information for couples marrying in approved premises in Chester 

These guidance notes are for couples who live in England and Wales and intend to marry, by civil ceremony, in approved premises in Cheshire. More detailed information about legal preliminaries to marriage is available from any register office and couples are advised to seek advice from a superintendent registrar if they are unsure about any of the information shown below. 

1.      Booking the registrars.

As soon as a couple has made provisional arrangements for a marriage to take place in approved premises, they should contact the superintendent registrar of the district in which the premises are situated (01244 602668). On the day of the marriage it will be necessary for two registrars to attend, one to conduct the ceremony and the other to register the marriage.

Registrars will attend marriages in approved premises from 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Sunday (Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are exceptions to this – however always inquire with the registrar’s), subject to availability.

It is possible to book registrars up to 24 months in advance (from 21st October 2005) and couples are advised to contact the appropriate register office as soon as possible. The marriage cannot take place without the presence of the registrars.

 

2.     The Notice of Marriage.

Although it is not necessary for the couple to reside in the district where they intend to marry, they are required to give legal notice of their intention to marry in the district they live, with a minimum of 16 clear days prior to the ceremony.  The notice detailed below is valid for 12months.

By Certificate 

Notice must be given to the superintendent registrar of the district in which the bride and groom have resided at for at least the previous 7 days. A minimum of 16 days must elapse between the giving of the notice and the day of the marriage. If the couple lives in different districts, notice must be given to the superintendent registrar of each district.

 

3.     The Marriage Ceremony

The content of the marriage ceremony must be approved in advance by the superintendent registrar who will be attending on the day. Please note that by law, any music, reading, words or performance, which form part of the ceremony, must be secular in nature. The superintendent will be happy to offer advice and guidance to couples who wish to personalize or enhance their marriage ceremony.

4.     Fees

The current level of fees is below. The fee for the attendance of the registrars on the day of the marriage will normally be payable at least 3 weeks in advance. All approved holders will be notified of any changes to these fees.

Room hire is £200.00 for your civil ceremony.

 

Civil Registration fees from April 2005 

1.      For entering a notice of marriage - £30.00 per person

2.      For the attendance of the registrars on the day of the marriage (payable 3-4 weeks prior to date of ceremony)

between 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 – from £200.00 to £280.00 dependent on day of the week.

between 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007 – from £205.00 to £285.00 dependent on day of the week.
